KKA is aiming to be at the forefront of Kenpo in Australia and as well as teaching Senior Grandmaster Ed Parker’s American Kenpo system, we also bring to our country some of the best and most respected American Kenpo instructors from around the globe to share this art with martial artists from all styles. Announcing a brand new video series "IN THE STUDIO" presenting and explaining the concepts, principles and theories of Ed. Parker's American Kenpo Karate.

A simple internet search will reveal a host of videos on the "how to" aspect of Kenpo, but not much information dealing with the "why." This series is designed to fill that "dead space."

The Journey Continues

As it is with any good family there comes a point when it is time to leave the safety and comfort of the home and go off in search of one’s hopes, dreams and aspirations.  

Our KKA family is no different and so it is with sadness but also pride that we say farewell and wish good luck to Peter Tas and Peter Kelly.

3rd Degree Black Belt Pledge Approved
The KKA Board of Directors has ratified a 3rd Degree Black Belt Pledge to serve as a guiding philosophy for our instructors. Just as we formulate a philosophy for living our lives, over time martial arts instructors should be developing a philosophy for conducting their coaching.

Mission Australia Award Winner

KKA Queensland Director Tony Perez this week won the Mission Australia 2008 Child Friendly Excellence Award.

This award acknowledges and celebrates those people and organisations that have provided outstanding service to families in local communities. The award recognises the positive influence our Kenpo 4 Kids program has had on children and their families. Bernie Ripoll MP presented this state government sponsored award at a function in Brisbane yesterday. "This is just further proof of the quality and professionalism we offer with our programs. I feel so humble that so many people took the time to write a few words and submit their nominations,"  said Sensei Perez

Interviewer (N): David, what is the latest with your feature film, The Headhunter?

DS: Nigel, it is a very exciting time. The film is now "in the can" as they say in the movie business. After three months prep time since last November we commenced shooting in February and wrapped filming 22 days later. It was a punishing schedule of working 16 hour days but we are all very pleased with what we achieved. After being nearly a year behind schedule and raising millions of dollars to finance The Headhunter we can finally see light at the end of the tunnel.......................
